The Importance Of Silver Linings

Hello ,

Seeing the silver linings in every misfortune is a skill that takes a long time to perfect. However that doesn't mean you shouldn't bother, it means you should start right now. There is never anything that does not have a silver lining, good is in everything. It is in your worst days and your best. It is in your kindest friend and your worst enemy. Most of all, it is in you and you can always find it if you look hard and long enough.

When you're at your lowest it can be hard to look through it and find something good. But finding some good does not mean the situation wasn't bad. You're upset and that's okay , you have a right to feel that way when something bad has happened. However finding the good may help to ease the pain.

" Every day may not be good but there's something good in everyday"

So I'd love to hear one good thing from your day. I'll go first :

I'm lactose intolerant so couldn't drink Costa's delicious new Toffee Apple Hot Chocolate ( seriously , I stole a sip of my girlfriends and it was so worth the risk hehe ) but my girlfriend had one and it made her super happy and that's good enough for me :)

Reaching 10,000 Steps

Hey Friends !

As well as the more obvious physical benefits, staying active is unbelievably important for your mental well-being. When you exercise your body releases endorphin's that ( because of lots of science-y stuff that I must of known once upon a time because I passed my GSCE Biology ) make you feel happy and positive. Now I don't know about you but I like feeling happy, so I bought myself a Jawbone Up Move activity tracker. ( Well, actually my lovely sister bought it for me because she's great like that ). Among various other weird and wonderful things, Up works with the free app as a pedometer ( well it's a little more jazzy than that but you get the jist of it ). I set my target to the recommended number of daily steps which is 10,000. But don't worry, there's no need to panic ! Yes, it is A LOT of steps but I've come up with some easy ways to incorporate them into YOUR daily life.

How To Reach 10,000 Steps :

A great way to get started is to use public transport more, or even walk to where you need to go if that' possible! If you use public transport you often have to walk a lot further to get to the actual location that you need to be at, rather than being dropped at the door. You could even add more steps
by getting off a stop early!

Always take the stairs ! However if you do have to take the lift ( if you're out with somebody who is unable to use the stairs ) then walk around in circles in the lift ! NO MORE EXCUSES !! There are always solutions, so spend the time you'd usually spend moaning finding solutions.

Invest in a pedometer. You can get them for only a few pounds in most places. My Up Move Jawbone tracker is the best thing I've ever had and it only cost £15 off amazon. If you'd like to see a full review of my tracker then please let me know in the comments.

DON'T STAND STILL. If you're somewhere ten minutes early then walk up and down the road until it's time .If your bus arrives too early ( I know , I must be kidding , public transport is never early ) then rather than go straight to college/work then go to the nearest supermarket and walk up and down every aisle. ( I genuinely do this in ASDA every morning before college... yes, I am that said but hey ! It's 2000 steps ! ). Why stand still when you could be getting those steps up? #ForTheSteps

When you get up in the morning, watch your morning TV while having a gentle walk on the running machine. I actually look forward to going on the running machine each morning because In my head I'm getting up to watch The Ellen Show !

What Are You Waiting For ? Get Stepping !

No more putting it off ! Get out there and start making these easy steps that not only improve your physical health but your focus and your mental well being and generally just help YOU feel great ! What's not to love ? I'd love to hear from you guys in the comments, what do you guys do to get those endorphin's going ?

Catch Up Time !

Hello there !

So ... what have you missed ?

Over the last month, I've done a lot of missing you guys and your awesome blogs ( I have some serious catching up to do ;) ) , I've done a tonne of revision, sat a lot of exams and more recently, had some lovely days out with my girlfriend who bought me this gorgeous promise ring !!!!

I've also spent a lot of time looking up possible university courses and visiting open day. As boring as all that sounds it's actually giving me a real sense of excitement and optimism for the future. I've also taken a real interest in how fitness and nutrition can affect your mental health, I'd love to talk more about this topic on my blog so let me know if that's something you guys would be interested in. Also I'd love any recommendations of health and well being ( mental or physical ) blogs that I could read so if you know of any please leave them in the comments !

So essentially; exams are over, I'm happier and I'm feeling fresh with motivation to improve my happiness and well being and hopefully help you guys improve yours ! I'm feeling extremely optimistic about the summer and have lots of exciting posts planned for "Don'tBurstMyBubble" including a "Day Self Love Challenge" and posts focusing on health and lifestyle changes you can make to improve your mental state. If there are any posts that you guys would like to see in the near future then I'd love to hear from you !

I hope you're all having a lovely week and if not, I really hope it gets better.

How to ... Get Into The Revision Mindset

Hey there !

So we're a few months away from final exams ... and it's getting scary and you REAALLLY want to do well but the idea of sitting down to revise sounds about as fun as throwing yourself into a pit of snakes ! Well, that's how I've been feeling for the past few weeks but I've finally worked out how to get myself into the revision mindset ! So now I've worked it out I thought I'd share it with you :)

Step One : Create Your Revision Space

We've all heard that saying " Tidy room, tidy mind " and it works ! Make a space in your room completely clear so that you have lots of space to work and decorate it with lots of things that inspire you or make you feel happy to put you in  a good mind set ! A few things I have are :

  • Fairy lights
  • Crystals
  • A photo of me and my girlfriend
  • insense sticks

Step Two : Be Prepared

Make sure you have everything you need; pencil case, paper , text books. EVERYTHING ! If you get up to get a pencil we both know you're not coming back until you've watched the entirety of netflix ;)

Step Three : Dress Up, Make Up, Hair Up... Whatever Makes You Feel Up !

You're not going to be in the right mindset to work when you're in a pair of trackies with bed head . Make yourself look good so you feel fresh and motivated to do well .

Step Four : Water

Keep a glass of water ( I like it with ice ) on your desk. Staying hydrated is key to keeping your focus.

Step Five : Prioritise

Make a list of everything you need to do and then colour code it for high priority, medium priority and low priority work in that order .

Step Six : Find Out When You Work Best

I spent weeks trying to work all day and I literally got nothing done ! I got distracted and bored and for a whole day of misery I barely had an hours work to show for it. And then I realised, I'm a morning person ! So now I'm getting up early in the morning, working 7am - 1pm and then doing what I want to do in the afternoon so I have something to look forward to while I'm working :)

Step Seven : Meditation Music

I used to listen to music or have a film on in the background while I worked and it just didn't work because I just ended up distracted. But no one wants to sit in silence for five hours. So now I have meditation music up on youtube and it's brilliant ! I even found some especially to help you study, I'll leave a link here.

I really hope this helps and I know you're going to great in all your exams so just work hard and believe in yourself ! I'd love to hear what you do to get in the revision mindset in the comments !

Stay Strong <3 Stay Smiley :)

Lots of love, Marianne xxx

P.s. I'm super sorry I've missed Mondays positivity diaries, I had my french speaking exam this week so was revising none stop! I promise there will be one this Monday :)

The Anti-Sadness Jar | DIY

Hello,

Happiness is something we all strive for. After all, everybody wants to be happy :) So myself and Emma from the lovely little blog " Ems World" have been working together to think of ways to help you boost the focus on creating happiness in life so you can really live life to the full ! So pop over to Emmas blog to read a wonderful post she's put together on 'How to be more positive' for lots of helpful tips that will leave you bursting with sunshine :) Unfortunately, there are times when you're feeling what can only be described as a lil bit rubbish. And I can't stress enough that that's completely okay and you should always let yourself have the time to feel sad until you're ready to get up and going again and... well , as my girlfriend would say " Get your sparkle back ". So today I thought I'd show you a quick and easy DIY you can make to help you out in those moments when you're ready to put a smile on your face !

Step One : Get some bright colored paper ( I choose yellow add a little sunshine ) and draw lines down the page.

Step Two : Cut along the lines with scissors so that you get lots of strips.

Step Three : On each strip write something for you to do when you're sad to get your sparkle back. Or even a nice quote or a sweet message to yourself. Anything to make you smile.

If you're a little stuck , here are a few of my ideas :

  • Read a book
  • Make pancakes ( Pancake day doesn't come often enough )
  • Leave a hopeful note
  • Bake a cake
  • Go swimming
  • Paint your nails
  • Watch a comedy
  • Play with kittens
  • Have cuddles with a loved one
  • Have a sing song ( There's very little a sing song can't make feel better )
  • Go shopping
  • Draw
  • Take yourself out for coffee

Step Four : Pop these strips of paper into a mason jar and pick one out whenever you need a little extra sunshine in your life !

I'd love to hear how it turns out if you have a go at this ! What things would be on your jar ? I think it can be really helpful to have some go to ideas for when you're feeling down because when you're in  a bad place you're not always thinking straight so it's great to have a pre-made plan to get your sparkle back :)

Stay Strong <3 Stay Smiley :)

Lots of love, Marianne xxx

P.s. I'm in exam season now so until the end of June I'm only going to be able to post twice a week ( Monday and Friday ) and I might end up missing a few posts but I'll do my best to stay on top of it !

What's Been Wonderful | March 2016

Hello ,

So this months been great, I had a great day out at a craft fair with my girlfriend, remembered how much fun trampolines are ( seriously, who says those things are just for kids ) and bought three more crystals ! I can hardly believe it's time to right another post about all the positive things I've learnt this month.

Positive Affirmation

" I can and I will."

Favourite Quote For Hopeful Notes

Blog

Shoes and Glitter is the sweetest blog I've found in the last few months ! Kay is such a kind, genuine person and is always so bright and positive , her blog is the perfect place to go for a smile :)

What's Made Me Smile ?

Me and my girlfriend went to a craft fair and had a wonderful day together. You can read all about it in this post I wrote here. We made these pretty flowers !

What Have I Been Grateful For ?

My Girlfriend , I talk about her a lot on my blog probably because she's the most important person in my life but I honestly don't know what I'd do without her. You'd have to meet her to understand but she's the most gorgeous girl on earth and she lights the whole room up with her smile so yeah ... Go Georgie !

I look rubbish in this picture because it was at the end of a long day and sat on a very windy river bank, Georgie still looks beautiful ... but I'm pretty sure she cheats somehow because she always looks beautiful :)

Crystal

Blue Lace Agate is a crystal that's meant to be great for reducing stress and helping you calm down ! It's also great for creativity :) I've also read, if you keep it by your bedside it can help you sleep deeper .

Increasing Your Well Being

Last month to increase my well being I got up a little earlier everyday so I could make my bed and tidy up and even meditate. It gave me the perfect start to the day ! This month I'm aiming to go swimming twice a week and yoga once a week . I'm really looking forward to getting into exercising more :)

It's been really lovely ending the month thinking about all of the good things, I'm really enjoying writing this series and I really hope you're enjoying reading it ! I'd love to hear in the comments what's made you smile ? What you've been grateful for ? What small step are you going to take to a happier life this month ? Let me know !

You Can Increase Your Mental Well Being

Hello !

Some days life feels great, like sunshine and smiles and kittens. But other days it's just a bit rubbish and that's okay too. But today I wanted to share some ways of you to increase your general well being in little ways that could really benefit your mental health!

  • Hydration - We all heard it over and over again, all the way through school " Drink more water, it's good for you " and I don't know about you but my usual response was " yeah ... that's great, but have you tried chocolate milkshake recently ? " . But over the last few months I've realized just how much upping my water intake does for me ! Not only is my skin clearer, but I'm way more focused and I feel better in myself :)
  • Smile at EVERYONE - Seriously, I mean EVERYONE ! Channel sunshine, there's plenty of misery in the world, bring something new :) Just telling the person how serves you on the check out to " Have a lovely day " and giving that stranger you met eyes with in the street a smile, you'd be amazed at the lovely responses you get  !
  • Stretch in the morning - When you get up, stretch out like you would when warming up to do exercise, I've found this really helps me feel less sluggish through the mornings and much more ready to go so I'm more productive which is always a good thing.
  • Accept and move on - This is something I've been using a lot lately , sometimes I get stressed or someone does something and it's really ( I mean REALLY ) not good , but at that time I react so badly you might as well of just killed off the whole human race. In these moments I'm trying to take a deep breath and say " Okay, that has just happened, I'm really sorry . Now it's over now so what can I do to improve the situation ." and I've found it really helps leave me in a much calmer and more reasonable mind frame .
  • Give your body the nutrients it needs - If you feed your body on rubbish, what is it going to use to make you feel good ? You're not going to have energy if you don't give your body food with lots of vitamins that you need to make energy, are you ? So try taking vitamins regularly and eating lots of fresh fruit and protein :)
  • Self date - Taking your self on a date and treating yourself like the brilliant person you are is a wonderful way to practice self love, if you want some more ideas for this then I wrote a post ideas that you can find here .
  • Do what you love - Find something you're good at and love and find something you're bad at and love , do both <3
If you want to increase your well being but doing it all at once is too difficult then every month in my 'What's Been Wonderful' post I let you know one simple thing that I'm going to change over the coming month to improve my life ! If you'd like to join me in that challenge then you're very welcome :)

Let me know in the comments what you do to improve your wellbeing :)

What's Been Wonderful | February 2016

Hello there !

This month has been brilliant for me , I've had more happy moments than I can count and I'm handling the bad moments better :) I wanted to start doing a monthly favorites post each month again  however I wanted to keep Don'tBurstMyBubble really focused on positivity so from now on every month I will be posting a favorites post with  a twist. 'What's Been Wonderful' will be a collection of my favorite positive little things that I've learnt and found in the past month. I really hope you enjoy !

Positive Affirmation

'Today is going to be  a good because because I will make positive choices to make it that way .'

Article

I'm a big fan of Psychologies magazine and this month I read an article talking about self confidence. It was a pretty long article and  I took a lot from it but what  I found really interesting was a piece of research into how your posture affects your confidence. It found that sitting up straight and openly for even just two minutes a day affects your brain chemistry to become more confident. The article als talked about how if you adopted a better posture for a few minutes before an interview ( or any anxiety provoking situation) it's more affective than trying to do it once you're already in the situation as that can make you feel fake.

Blog

Rainbow-Rose Blossom is a wonderful blogger who is all about self love and giving yourself all the kindness you desserve . She's one of the post inspirational people you could have in your BlogLovin feed and her endless passion, love and positivity always means that seeing she's posted brightens my day . I always look forward to visiting her blog and Rainbow is the person who first introduced me to self love. Please check her out, I know you'll love her as much as I do :)

What's made me smile ?

Just look how cute my girlfriends kitten is ! She's so sweet and I love playing with her :)

What have I been grateful for ?

Support from my friends over the last few months has been amazing, I've been completely over whelmed by their kindness and support. I couldn't be more grateful <3

Crystal

I've suddenly become really interested in crystals ( The sparkly kind but I'm also loving Crystal the blogger so check her out as well hehe because she has her own kind of sparkle  ) and learning all their different benefits. This month I bought Prehnite which is a heart chakra and solar plexus ( power ) chakra stone and Prehnite it will protect your personal energy so you won't absorb other peoples negatve energy which is something I really struggle with , as a result it increases your energy . It also helps ease worries which is always a good thing :)

Increasing your well being

Each month I want to include one small thing that I'd like to do over the up coming month to increase my well being :)  This month , I want to get up 15 minutes earlier so that I don't need to' rush and stress in your morning because that is when the stress hormone in your body is most active . With this extra time I'm planning to make my bed and make sure my room is tidy before I leave the house so I don't have a big mess built up at the end of the week :)

What have you been grateful for this month and how are you planning to improve your happiness / wellbeing / self this month ? Id love to hear from you in the comments !

Gratitude!

Hello !

Recently, I've noticed a lot of the American and Canadian Bloggers that I follow, Talking about celebrating Thanksgiving. In England we don't actually celebrate Thanksgiving so I didn't really know very much about it so I asked Crystal ( You can find her lovely blog here ) and she explained to me that ( apart from eating lots of yummy food ) it's all to do with being with your family and thinking about all the things you're thankful for ! I think this is a brilliant thing to be doing because think how much happier you would be if you were thankful for ALL the little things we have in life. I thought about it and then I decided to make a list :)

Things I'm Grateful For :

  • Cats ( They always calm me down and give great cuddles )
  • Carrie Hope Fletcher and her endless positivity
  • My dads humour and our inside jokes
  • That taken aback smiley look that people do when I say "have a nice day" and they're not expecting it
  • My best friend kindness
  • People who comment nice things on my blog
  • Everyone being different but no one being completely alone ( whatever they think )
  • Smiling
  • My physical health
  • Hope
  • Authors writing books that make me think ... or make my heart melt ( I'm not picky hehe )
  • My boyfriends heart and mine being made of the same thing... I'm not sure what that is exactly, I assumed glitter ;)
  • Doctor Who
These are just a few off my list ! A while back me and my best friend decided we wanted to improve our general well being in a few ways and one of them was to start a gratitude diary. We really wanted to use an app because It's easy to forget about a notebook and I always set my alarm before bed so I would always have my phone to do it :)

Then we came across Grid Diary. Grid Diary is a brilliant app, it takes about 10 minutes each night to answer 10 questions that I've set myself ! Some of mine are things like: What are 3 things you're grateful for ? What are three things you appreciate about yourself ? What are 3 good things that happened today ? I even use it to keep track of if I've meditated that day !

I've been using the app a few months and loving it so I had to share it with you guys because I knew you'd all love it too ! I think it would really help to boost your positivity and well being and when you look back you have a very long list that you've built up of good things about yourself and things you're grateful for :)

Let me know in the comments, five things that you're grateful for and if you've tried using this app. I'd love to hear what you think of it !

A week or so ago another blogger called Hannah ( She runs a great blog called The Donkey Invasion, please go check her out ) commented on my post 'How to...Sleep' saying " Congratulations on 100 bloglovin followers" to which I thought " Thank you ... wait ... what ? " So the moral of this story is that I'm very lucky that at least somebody is up to date with my stats ( Thank you Hannah hehe ) . But in all seriousness I really want to thank everybody who has ever read my blog. Before when I was on " Fairy Wishes and Marshmallow Squishes " or now after my fresh start on " MyHappyBubble" it was all under me as Don'tBurstMyBubble and I was always thankful for any support. I have never really posted explaining how grateful I am . I do always reply to comments and try and express it directly to people but I want to thank everyone. I started Don'tBurstMyBubble because I discovered a YouTuber called Carrie Hope Fletcher who really taught me to embrace positivity and kindness and she honestly made the most difficult part of my life the happiest . It took me a while to find ways to build positivity into my life and I've lost it a few times but I am determined to keep it and I want to help others find it .

Over the past few months I have on several occasions had those days when I'm left feeling rubbishy, useless and am on the verge of tears and then I have read some of the kindest comments imaginable. If you have ever been one of those people who didn't know that you fixed my day back together from half way across the country , America, Canada, New Zealand even ! Thank you, I hope I have made half as much of a difference to your day with my posts.

On my last post a woman commented with a quote that helped her and it said :

"No matter what happens, it's an experience"

I couldn't help but feel this quote described everything it took to accomplish so far on my blog and everything it will take to achieve everything I want to achieve on it in the future. There's a lot I'd like to do with my blog and as my confidence and technical skills are gradually building ( Technical skills significantly more gradually hehe ) I have plans for quotes series, christmas DIYs and I am even beginning to consider putting a face to my blog!

If I was going to describe my aims with Don'tBurstMyBubble I'd say :

  • Positivity
  • Make people feel better about themselves
  • Helping people Stay Strong <3 Stay Smiley :)
I hope these things come across to you ! I would love to hear what you'd like to see between now and hopefully the next hundred followers to come ! What posts would you like ? What types of quotes posts ? Any specific How to... Posts ? Anything to do with positivity, kindness or self love you'd specifically like to read ? Please let me know in the comments !

I'm sorry I have rambled through this but when expressing this much gratitude I find it hard to be articulate because there's simply not enough words :)

What Is Self-Love ?

Hello !

Welcome to Self-Love week ! I'm really excited about this project. It's such an important topic and I can't wait to talk to you about it :) I'm going to be posting everyday for the next five days about different things to do with self-love. From quotes to self care boxes and little ways you can incorporate it into your day to day lives, We've got it all ! I mean we even have a snazzy little logo for the week hehe :)

So today I thought we'd talk about, what actually is self-love? First lets get rid of a few misconceptions, here's what self-love isn't :

  • It's arrogant
  • It's pointless
  • It's vain
  • It's for people that are stuck up
  • Selfish
  • It doesn't matter
Wrong, WRong, WROng , WRONg, WRONG !

Here is what self-love actually is, by dictionary definition :)

self-love
noun

  1. regard for one's own well-being and happiness.

Self-love is about being comfortable, confident and happy within yourself. It can be difficult to achieve, especially with all these horrible misconceptions surrounding it. But I'm glad to say it's becoming more accepted and more people are talking about it and coming to understand that it's not vain it's necessary.

It can play a massive part in helping people ( male and female - many people think this is only important with women ) gain more self confidence as it increases their self-esteem and lets you accept yourself for who you are, making you more comfortable with yourself. This opens so many doors! Either to being happier doing the things you already do or to try knew things you never thought you'd have the confidence to ! . You can't tell me that's not important ?

When I broke up with my boyfriend for a while about a year ago, although it was a sad time for me, after a few weeks I began to notice something new. I started to look at myself in the mirror and think : "You know what ? I'm actually looking okay today .. no I look pretty .. I'm actually quite pretty!" This was a massive moment for me and I honestly believe it was because I became too reliant on needing somebody else to tell me I was beautiful and that should not be the case . Once I got back with boyfriend, although I was and am happy, that confidence again became reliant on him. I'm telling you this for two reasons:

a) People often think of Self-Love as something that only single people need. form of confidence so that they can see their happiness should not depend on being in a relationship ( which it shouldn't ) . But what people forget is people who are in relationships also shouldn't have all of their happiness and confidence depend on their boyfriend or girlfriend. This is something It took me a long time to get to grips with. Yes my boyfriend is lovely and sweet and makes me extremely happy and yes he regularly tells me I'm beautiful and all the rest. BUT there's also a lot of other things that make me happy that are completely separate from him and I am trying to get to a point where I have enough self esteem to not need his reassurance that I look nice .

b) There's no reason that somebody else telling me I'm beautiful should be worth more to me than accepting my body and allowing it to be beautiful to me . In fact , I'm living in here ! Surely I should have more of a say than anyone else on what defines my own standards of beauty !

So , give yourself time to love and accept yourself. To stand in front of a mirror and say "You know what ? Its not that bad . Actually I'm kind of pretty looking !" Allow yourself to be comfortable, make a list of things you like about your personality and a list of things you like about your body ! You can find lots of little challenges like this in my " 30 Day Happiness Challenge " Let me know 3 things you like about your body and three good things about your personality in the comments !

You could ever take it a step further and use a sharpie to write positive words over your body ! I saw this recently in a post by Rainbow-Rose Blossom ( She's a brilliant blogger who frequently promotes self-love and you should definitely check her blog out )  that I'll link to here . I thought it was a really empowering thing to do !

Anyway, that's it for today ! It would mean the absolute world to me if you could share this around however you can because I think this is a really important topic and I'm so excited about raising some more awareness of it ! Check back tomorrow for the second instalment. It's all about how to make yourself feel good about yourself from the inside with lots of tips on everything from healthy eating to getting descent nights sleep !

What Makes YOU Happy? #2

Heyy !

Yesterday, I posted the first half of this mini series ( You can find the post here )  all about the small things in life that makes you happy but you often disregard them as silly, unimportant little things ( if you even notice them ) . I asked 8 different bloggers to tell me all about the little things in their lives that make them smile, because smiling is good :) Here's what they said :

Professional Daydreamer from professionaldaydreamerx.blogspot.co.uk/

Hello,
The things that make me happy are quite simple and not really things that I appreciate normally.

Seeing my family and my little cousin running up to me, arms open wide for a cuddle. It's something really simple but I love having cuddles with her and my family. It really makes me feel like I'm part of an amazing team of people.

A full subscription box on YouTube. Again, something very simple but I love coming home after a stressful day and finding that all of my favourite YouTube channels have uploaded something new for me to waste time watching.

Time and a half on Sunday. Work on Sunday can be annoying but it's much better knowing that I get paid time and a half. It makes my day that little more bearable.

Comments on my blog, This is the best part of my day. I love coming home to see that people have commented on my blog, it really makes me feel like what I write about helps people in some way. It also makes me feel more connected to other bloggers and my readers.

Having a lush bubble bath. After a long day I love coming home to a hot bubble bath with a lush bath bomb in it. I love being surrounded by the bubbles, I pop on my face mask, put spotify on the Sam Smith Album or Adele and then just let all the worries of the day get washed away.

Not having to go out on rainy days. Now I love the rain but I love it when I have the day off and I wake up to hear it pouring with rain. I love it even more in winter. Knowing that I don't need to go anywhere and that I can put on a series of Doctor who and snuggle back into my duvet. One of life's little pleasures.

Here is a list of things that make me smile:

1. Seeing a happy family laughing and playing together at the park or pool or other public places.
This makes me feel all nice and happy for that lovely family.

2. Having the sun wake you up in the morning.
This is actually the best thing ever!

3. Having finished everything on your daily To Do List, whether it was on a written list or mental list.
I always write lists, just to have the satisfaction of crossing off the things you have done and gotten out of the way.

4. Being awake to see the sunrise.
I am rarely up early enough to see the sunrise, so when I do see it, it is so much more special.

5. Watching old home videos or looking through old photo albums and scrapbooks.
I love reminiscing, seeing how I acted when I was a hyper four year old. It's pretty funny seeing a smaller version of you running around like a maniac! (Thanks for all the sugar, Mum and Dad.)

  • Finding a good book that you can't put down
  • Walking on the beach at sunset/sunrise
  • Going for a long drive
  • Being inside during a thunder storm, when the rain hits the window
  • An unexpected hug when you need one, but didn't want to ask
  • Forehead kisses

So that's what makes all these fantastic bloggers happy ! Now it's your turn ! Let me know in the comments what are the little things in life that make you happy ? What Makes YOU Happy ?

Hello !!!
Over the past month or so, I've been  thinking a lot about all the little things that come together to make us all so happy, but we don't give them enough attention to realise how happy they make us ! For example; today I noticed the sky was a really gorgeous shade of blue and it made me smile. If it  had been that same shade just a few weeks ago, I doubt I would've even noticed, let alone of remembered about it 6 hours later ! This applies to a lot of things, that man who held the door for you this morning or the cute dog you saw in the park that came up to you for a cuddle . We miss out on so much happiness by undermining the shear beauty, love and kindness of things we disregard each day. We assume that the days that may well be remembered as tragic, awful days were only that. But I can guarantee that in every single day, something (tiny as it may be ) happened ! The worse the day, the harder you need to look because the more you need it :)

"Everyday may not be good, but there's something good in everyday"

We can easily make ourselves happier by being a little more mindful of the things around us ! So I contacted a few wonderfully talented bloggers ( Who actually often brighten my day with their posts ) and asked them to write a paragraph or list, however they feel most comfortable, about the things in their lives that make them happy ! I'm going to post this in two halves so that it's not too long and the second half will be up on Friday morning :) So lets get going !

Vickey Wright from Never Grow Up
"What makes me happy? I love the sound a storm, pattering on a glass room. Or better still, the cold chill of raindrops, washing off my mascara. On the contrary, I love the blinding beam of sunlight that floods the room on a mid-summer morning. The first sip of a cup of tea after a long day’s work, and the first bite of that cake you’ve been craving since 11am. When that dress is a perfect fit, or when your eyeliner wings evenly first time. I love listening to songs from years ago, and still knowing all the words. The smell of popcorn that floods Frontier Land, and pinky promises that you know won’t be broken. Finally, the opening credits of a Disney film, filled with the excitement that the next hour and a half are to be filled with magic, music and laughter. That’s what makes me happy."

10. Scaring people

Be Nice It's Tuesday from https://beniceitstuesday.wordpress.com/
I generally like to think of myself as a happy person, I certainly try to have an optimistic outlook on life, and I believe that we’re all, to some extent, in control of making ourselves happy. A year or so ago I was not so happy with my life, and there were good reasons for this, but I decided it was time to be happy again, so I did the 100HappyDays challenge. I now have a little yellow book of all my photos, so this is a summary of what’s in the photos, the things that make me happy. Trees, flowers, my cat, elastic bands, music, musicals, pretty rain, friends, my sisters coming home, food, bubble wrap, sitting in my onesie, walks, nice messages, cafes, finishing work, swimming, reading, sewing, choir, sunshine, Harry Potter memes, doing concerts, cake, people being nice, my ‘cello, my home, visiting new places, squirrels, Ramin Karimloo, celebrations, doing art work, playing cards, Maltesers and wine, positive quotes, singing, listening to music, my favourite German film, ice cream, Disney films, laughter, wind chimes, adventures, playing violent rounders, seeing family, baking, Scotland, the beach, sunset, canoeing, ceilidh dancing, fit boys, Cluedo, exciting boat happenings, jumping in waves, making a treasure hunt, my bedroom, writing letters, getting a postcard, booking a holiday, rope swings, jewellery, and finally, photographs that remind me of happy times.

Happiness is a choice. Don't live life everyday letting yourself live in guilt and sorrow, you have the choice to turn that around. You are in control of your own life so make a choice to be happy for yourself. You deserve to be happy just as much as the next person. Try to do more and surround yourself with things that make you smile <3
Here are a few things that always make me smile :)
1) Family bonding
2) Romance movies/novels
3) Looking back on moments in which I was truly happy
4) My dog
5) Singing along to music

Thank you so much to all the amazing bloggers that got involved with this post ! I've linked to all their blogs so if you have any spare time you should definitely check them out, you wont regret it ! They're all such talented writers and I really enjoyed hearing about the lovely little things that makes each of them happy :) I'd love to hear in the comments, what are the little things that make YOU happy ? Or you could tweet them to me @MyHappyBubbleXx using the hashtag #WhatMakesYOUHappy

-Roy. E. Disney

"Kindness is in our power. Even when fondness is not"
- Mark Twain

"If you propose to speak, always ask yourself; is it true, is it necessary, is it kind ?"
-Buddha

Love/Hate Tag

Hello !

So recently I'v been tagged in quite a few bits and bobs including The Sisterhood of World Bloggers Award and The Versitile Blogger Award  and I just want to say I'm super grateful for you thinking of me when picking people to tag and I am doing them I promise, I'm just trying to keep up my normal posts at the same time :) So until I get these up, my Thursday posts will most likely be these tags, I hope that's okay ! But today I wanted to do the Love/Hate Tag that both Crystallized Daisies and Spring Baby tagged me in . These are two wonderful, positive and quite honestly brilliant writers and you should definitely check them both out, you won't regret it :)

From what I understand, for this tag you list ten things you love, ten things you hate and tag some people ... yeah? Okay, that sounds simple enough. Let's go !

Ten things I love :

One : Kittens ! ... Okay not specifically kittens ( Although I do love those as well ) but you know that feeling you get when you see a kitten and it makes you feel all warm and happy inside and you literally cant do anything but go " awwwwwwwwwwww!! .... muummmmm, but look how cute he issssssss "

Two : Wearing my cat ears ... How I maintain a boyfriend whilst being this abnormally attached to wearing cat ears, I DO NOT KNOW ! But I guess he's just a bout as crazy as I am which is kind of a necessity dating me aha :) I genuinely own three different pairs and got confused when my boyfriend wouldn't wear the black ones I bought because apparently the fact they were silver wasn't the issue.. and them being black didn't make them manly. Who'd of thought eh ? ;)

Three : Pasta ! Of my gosh that stuff is good ! Ahhhhhhh ! I can't explain how much I love pasta, I barely eat anything else, which probably isn't great for your health, but I'm happy so hey :)

Four : Doctor who :) I am fully aware my obsession is starting to become worrying but I can't help it ! One of my best friends is also obsessed with Doctor who and whenever I see her we spend are entire time together in a mix of fangirling, references and excitement about up coming series ! As well as of course, Doctor Who The Musical, If you haven't seen it .. I'll just leave it here :

Five : My best friend. I'm gonna go all soft on you now but I promise it's only for a second so bare with me ;) My best friend is honestly the most brilliant girl and she's been there for me through everything and I'm so grateful and she puts up with all my crap and waits outside the changing rooms while I try on like 10 tops and then cant be bothered to que so don't buy them and lets me watch Disney films in French when I'm feeling rubbishy and is one of the loveliest , most beautiful people on Earth so yeah ! Shout out to my best friend who is still shorter than me no matter what anyone says !

Six : SNOWWWWWW ! Although the fact I've been with my boyfriend two years and still not had the chance to build a snowman with him makes me slightly distressed.

Seven : Carrie and The hopefuls , I've said this a million times but Carrie Hope fletcher is amazing, talented, beautiful and loving and yes I do want to marry her ( Apologies to my boyfriend.. and hers ) and the community of hopefuls that she's created and loved is one of the best things in my life and I am so proud to be a part of it !

Eight : Having my nails painted a pretty colour .. I mean I'm incapable of doing it myself because it's not really among my talents but like I said in number five, I have a brilliantly patient best friend .

Nine : Music :) Whether I'm listening to it or making it I love music as you can tell from my ever growing collection of musical instruments that I can kind of - ish play ( because I have know patience ) Including my drums, Two ukuleles, Two guitars and piano and I sing a lil bit as well , I'm honestly happiest when I'm doing something musical ^.^

Ten : Seeing my sister! She lives in Germany now so I don't get to see her often but when I either go up with my mum to see her or she comes back down to spend a week or so with us it's always great :)

Aw that was fun ! I actually really enjoyed thinking so much about the things I love in life :) The next part of this tag is to talk about things you hate but ., I really don't particularly hate anything. I mean , if I smile at strangers and they don't smile back it annoys me a little but then I guess they either were just a little confused and didn't quite catch on that I was trying to be friendly or not of seen me so I don't really hate them. So how about we leave that bit and keep on with the smiles of things we love :) Let me know in the comments what things you love !

I'd love to see Lou's World and The Amanda Way do this tag !

The Man Who Didn't Tut...

Helloo,

Today I wanted to talk about something that happened to me ( Or rather didn't ) at the gym today :) I was at the gym on the exercise bikes when a man walked in and as he walked past me to get to the running machine, I thought I heard him tut at me. At this point I needed to have a serious talk with myself . This man did NOT tut at me .

a) Why would he ? I wasn't doing anything that would provoke disapproval, I was just using the gym like everyone else .

b) He couldn't care less what I was doing ! Why on Earth would he ? The man just wanted to use the gym , just the same as I wanted to . I didn't care what anyone else was doing in the gym because it didn't affect me, just like I didn't affect him .

What actually happened was I was, I saw a man walk in and was probably feeling a little self conscious because sweaty and exhausted is hardly my best look ;) I forgot for a few minutes, like I expect everyone does, NOBODY CARES ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING .

Obviously I don't mean that in a mean way I'm sure lots and lots of people care about you're wellbeing and happiness, but my point is that strangers don't care what you're doing, what you're wearing or whether your hair is slightly out of place! No one even notices.

Do you notice everyone you walk past and all their faults ? Do you waste your day thinking about that person who walked past you twice because they went the wrong way and had to turn around ? Did you even notice ? I didn't think so <3

People aren't judging you . Not everybody is out to get you. You don't need to be self conscious and constantly looking out for someone giving you a funny look. Trust me if you have better things to do than judge strangers, then so do they :) The only person that's stressing out at you is yourself and you're worth more than that, I pinkie promise :)

In short, people aren't trying catch you out, you're loved by those who know you and those who don't know you aren't looking for something to dislike about you, they're too busy <3

Stay Strong <3 Stay Smiley :)
