Hopeful Notes | Random Acts Of Kindness

The idea of hopeful notes started with Carrie Hope Fletcher and her followers 'The Hopefuls' who decided to leave post it notes everywhere and anywhere with positive quotes and messages for strangers to find that will hopefully make them smile. All you really need for this is a pad of post it notes ( .... well that's £1 if that ... ) and a pen ( ... you can steal that from work , you know, in the name of kindness and all that ;) . I wrote a post a few months ago with detailed instructions and lots of ideas for hopeful notes which you can find here. And if you're stuck for positive quotes to write on them then check out my post, Positive Quotes For Hopeful Notes!  I often write about 50-100 of them and  go out for a whole days to cover a town in them. It gives you so much positive energy to commit a random act of kindness and you can leave them anywhere at anytime ! If you're bored on the bus, find a piece of scrap paper in your bag, write a sweet message and leave it on your seat and who knows whos day you might make !

So this week go out and leave at least one nice note for a stranger , if you write @thehopefulnotes on the top of the note the recipient might even share it onto the hopeful notes twitter page !

Positive Quotes For Hopeful Notes | Quotes Posts!

A While back , I wrote a post called " How to... Hopeful Note" I recommend you read that one before this post or you probably won't have a clue what I'm going on about ! But assuming that you've read that one, I've got a confession. I've stopped leaving hopeful notes ( post it notes in random places with positive messages on for strangers to find ) I've been busy and a bit down and to be honest they're rubbish excuses. Leaving hopeful notes used to be one of the things that always made my day as well as hopefully the day of whoever found it .. or at least helped them crack a smile !

So, no more excuses. I might be busy and snowed under with college work but I love the hopeful notes and I had a passion for random acts of kindness that I didn't even notice I'd forgotten ! From now on I will leave at least one hopeful note every week and to motivate me to do that , There will be a picture of it at the end of each Monday post :) If you know about the hopeful notes or have read my post about it then I'd love for some of you to do the same thing and maybe even pop a picture of your hopeful note in the comments ! Heyy There !

So this amazing blogger called Basically Chloe  nominated me to do the Sisterhood of World Bloggers Award !

Concealer or Foundation ? 

Definitely foundation ! I don't actually use concealer but at the minute I really love the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation and would recommend it to anyone :)

Daily Inspiration ?

Carrie Fletcher's videos ! I always marathon watch her videos when I need a bit of inspiration because she's so talented and has worked hard and is now well on the way to achieving everything she deserves :)

What Motivates you ?

This doesn't make sense when you haven't seen it but generally my bedroom wall... give me a second and I will explain myself , I swear I'm not mad ! On my bedroom wall I have a collection of things that make me happy like a massive world poster, Pictures of me and my friends, quotes, drawings, tickets, my signed Carrie Fletcher poster and it just cheers me up when stuffs not going my way :)

Favourite thing to blog about ? 

Positivity and ways to find the happiness you already have as well as self love , I really want to get this blog more into being happy with yourself as well as with the world around you !

Opinions on YouTubers being more widely known as celebrities ? 

Well being a celebrity by definition is " The state of being well known " so I think if they're well known and getting important messages out there and putting their mark on the world in a way they're proud of and not hurting anyone doing it then; wooo go them for achieving their dreams ^.^

Louise or Zoella ?

Umm .. no .. I don't think I can answer this ;) I'm going to say Louise because she just seems to inspire confidence in me and definitely manages to give me a fantastic sense of self belief .

Favourite breed of dog ?

Pomeranian, like seriously it's like having a little face in a walking pompom !!!! :D

Why do you blog ? 

I wanna help people and myself feel better and show everyone that it isn't that bad, not everyone is out to get you, there is always a silvers lining and it can always get better :)

Cakes or cookies ? 

Always cookies but they have to be those soft,chewy ones that are plain with chocolate chips and oh my gosh I want one now ;)

Love/Hate Tag

Hello !

So recently I'v been tagged in quite a few bits and bobs including The Sisterhood of World Bloggers Award and The Versitile Blogger Award  and I just want to say I'm super grateful for you thinking of me when picking people to tag and I am doing them I promise, I'm just trying to keep up my normal posts at the same time :) So until I get these up, my Thursday posts will most likely be these tags, I hope that's okay ! But today I wanted to do the Love/Hate Tag that both Crystallized Daisies and Spring Baby tagged me in . These are two wonderful, positive and quite honestly brilliant writers and you should definitely check them both out, you won't regret it :)

From what I understand, for this tag you list ten things you love, ten things you hate and tag some people ... yeah? Okay, that sounds simple enough. Let's go !

Ten things I love :

One : Kittens ! ... Okay not specifically kittens ( Although I do love those as well ) but you know that feeling you get when you see a kitten and it makes you feel all warm and happy inside and you literally cant do anything but go " awwwwwwwwwwww!! .... muummmmm, but look how cute he issssssss "

Two : Wearing my cat ears ... How I maintain a boyfriend whilst being this abnormally attached to wearing cat ears, I DO NOT KNOW ! But I guess he's just a bout as crazy as I am which is kind of a necessity dating me aha :) I genuinely own three different pairs and got confused when my boyfriend wouldn't wear the black ones I bought because apparently the fact they were silver wasn't the issue.. and them being black didn't make them manly. Who'd of thought eh ? ;)

Three : Pasta ! Of my gosh that stuff is good ! Ahhhhhhh ! I can't explain how much I love pasta, I barely eat anything else, which probably isn't great for your health, but I'm happy so hey :)

Four : Doctor who :) I am fully aware my obsession is starting to become worrying but I can't help it ! One of my best friends is also obsessed with Doctor who and whenever I see her we spend are entire time together in a mix of fangirling, references and excitement about up coming series ! As well as of course, Doctor Who The Musical, If you haven't seen it .. I'll just leave it here :

Five : My best friend. I'm gonna go all soft on you now but I promise it's only for a second so bare with me ;) My best friend is honestly the most brilliant girl and she's been there for me through everything and I'm so grateful and she puts up with all my crap and waits outside the changing rooms while I try on like 10 tops and then cant be bothered to que so don't buy them and lets me watch Disney films in French when I'm feeling rubbishy and is one of the loveliest , most beautiful people on Earth so yeah ! Shout out to my best friend who is still shorter than me no matter what anyone says !

Six : SNOWWWWWW ! Although the fact I've been with my boyfriend two years and still not had the chance to build a snowman with him makes me slightly distressed. 

Seven : Carrie and The hopefuls , I've said this a million times but Carrie Hope fletcher is amazing, talented, beautiful and loving and yes I do want to marry her ( Apologies to my boyfriend.. and hers ) and the community of hopefuls that she's created and loved is one of the best things in my life and I am so proud to be a part of it ! 

Eight : Having my nails painted a pretty colour .. I mean I'm incapable of doing it myself because it's not really among my talents but like I said in number five, I have a brilliantly patient best friend .

Nine : Music :) Whether I'm listening to it or making it I love music as you can tell from my ever growing collection of musical instruments that I can kind of - ish play ( because I have know patience ) Including my drums, Two ukuleles, Two guitars and piano and I sing a lil bit as well , I'm honestly happiest when I'm doing something musical ^.^

Ten : Seeing my sister! She lives in Germany now so I don't get to see her often but when I either go up with my mum to see her or she comes back down to spend a week or so with us it's always great :) 

Aw that was fun ! I actually really enjoyed thinking so much about the things I love in life :) The next part of this tag is to talk about things you hate but ., I really don't particularly hate anything. I mean , if I smile at strangers and they don't smile back it annoys me a little but then I guess they either were just a little confused and didn't quite catch on that I was trying to be friendly or not of seen me so I don't really hate them. So how about we leave that bit and keep on with the smiles of things we love :) Let me know in the comments what things you love !

Brilliantly Catchy Songs !

Hello There ! 

The other night I was having one of those nights where every position is uncomfortable, every pillow feels about as soft as a brick and the chances of sleep felt about as likely as a flying zebra coming in through my window and offering to whisk me off to the moon ! So I turned to YouTube to find something to entertain me until I felt slightly less awake than a 5 year old who'd eaten about 3 tonnes of candy. Some how while I was going through endless videos I fell upon a couple of really brilliant, catchy an unique songs which I now can't get enough of ! So I thought I'd share them with you :) 

A Hairdressers Called Sids - Jerry Williams

This is such a super cute, catchy song . I wasn't so keen on it at first but now I can't get the chorus out of my head and I've had it on repeat for the past two hours... so I guess I should say sorry in advance ;)

                      Penny Drop - Beth McCarthy

You Might Recognise Beth Mccarthy off The Voice Series Three ( For those who don't know, The Voice is a singing competition on TV in the UK ) . But me being seemingly oblivious to the world, hadn't heard of her until I found her singing on YouTube and her song Penny Drop is AMAZING !

I know I've already given you one Beth McCarthy song but she REALLY is stunning :) This song is all about taking chances and doing what you need to do to get where you want to be <3

Blue Eyes Green Eyes - Charlotte Campbell

This song is wonderful :) Charlotte has such a lovely, endearing, positive outlook and a gorgeous guitar that I would give both my legs and at least one arm for ... It's really pretty ;) Also, she's just brought an album out called making waves so be sure to check that out !

I'm Not Sure At All - Carrie Hope Fletcher 

Just a little, mini song by the amazing Carrie Hope Fletcher. I honestly haven't been able to get this out of my head since I first heard it ! It reminds me of me and my boyfriend when she say " I think I liked the taste of lemonade " because I tended to freeze up in front of his family when asked if I wanted a drink and just go for water to avoid being any trouble ! 

The Postman - Lucy Spraggan

Despite being super sad and giving me a serious case of goose bumps, Lucy, as always has produced yet another song that's somehow both heart-warming and chilling at the same time ! I love it :)

April Favourites 2015

Hellooo , 

I've always liked April. I mean we get two weeks holiday, lots of chocolate and little baby sheep running around making everywhere look adorable ! So today I thought I'd share some of my favourite things from this month ! 

Clothes

I found dungarees !!!!! I don't know why, but I'm suddenly in love with the idea of dungarees . They're going to be great in the summer with just a plain white top underneath and would be really cute for wearing on the beach over your swimming costume or bikini since you can slip dungarees on and off really easily :) I bought mine from Newlook ( you can find them here ) and can't wait for it to get a lil bit warmer so it's actually acceptable to wear them outside !

Book 

All I know Now is finally out ! I've been waiting ( not so patiently ) for months for Carrie Hope Fletcher's first book to come out :) Although I haven't finished it yet, so far it's amazing ! Carrie is one of the kindest, most positive people you could ever think of and she really reflects her gorgeous personality in her writing . All I Know Now is written in the style of her blog which you can find here , It's a wonderful guide on how to handle life as a teenager . Filled with everything from playground bullies too self confidence too making mistakes and accepting other peoples apologise for their own ! I highly recommend it for anyone who's .. well, human :) You can buy the book from Waterstones and if you're feeling extra lovely you could go visit Carrie on her book tour :)

Song 

Rusty Clanton is a really sweet american YouTuber with a great voice and stunning song writing skill's. My favourite song this month has to be his song "Socks" . It is honestly the cutest thing I've heard in ages !

Quote 

Don't you just love it when you find a quote and it's just like ' Oh my gosh yes ! Everyone needs to understand this !' and it just feels like the most incredibly right thing you've heard in forever ! ... ohh just me then ;) Anyways as per usual John Green ( Author of The Fault In Our Stars ) has something wonderful to say :

Food !!!! 

I have no idea why, but until this month, I haven't even thought about, let alone eaten Party Rings in absolutely ages ! For some reason I've started eating them again and OH MY GOSH ! They are the most yummy things ever ! ... I just needed to share my new found hobby of eating Party Rings with you , I apologise for the outburst ;) Luckily, I have a wonderful best friend who supplies me Party Rings whenever I'm sad .. I think I need to be sad more hehe :)

This just made me smile and is annoyingly catchy so I just had to share it with you ... 

Accessories 

These pretty hair ties with adorable bows on come in loads of different colours and designs ! They're from NewLook and I really like tying them around a donut bun in my hair :) What's even better is that they seem to go with pretty much any outfit ... especially the dungarees I was talking about earlier :)   

Apps 

I don't usually write about anything to do with technology because I'm a lil bit useless on that front ... okay a lot ;) But I recently found this app called Listastic which helps you keep track of everything through my favourite method ... Lists ! Add they're colour coded ! What more could you ask for haha :) You can even add lists within the lists and add notes to anything where you might need a little extra detail ! Even I can use it, which is really saying something :) I would definitely recommend this app to anyone and everyone .

If you did then why not comment and tell me a good thing thats happened this month no matter how rubbishy your month has been I garentee there's something positive in their somewhere even if it's tiny :) For me it's that for my Easter present ( because I already got a lot of chocolate and apparently eating a couple of hundred tonnes of chocolate is bad for you .. who knew eh ? ) my mum ordered the special Costa Hot Chocolate mugs for me and my boyfriend ! In other news, I don't mean to brag.. but I now have The Jungle Book Pyjamas, Just saying ;) If you want to be as cool as me then you can find them here and make all your friends jealous ... I think mine were just lying to cover up their feelings of awe when they saw mine haha !

The Hopeful Notes

Helloo there !

On my last blog, I talked endlessly about a wonderful woman called Carrie Hope Fletcher whom I absolutely adore .. and now you just the pleasure of another awe fuelled blog post on my idol! Arn't you lucky ;) Today I wanted to talk about Carries hopeful notes!

What are they ?

The hopeful notes are named after Carries' middle name, Hope. Quite a while ago, her fans began calling themselves the Hopefuls after her. So it only seemed fitting that Carries new idea to add a little extra kindness to the world was called the Hopeful Notes ! Hopeful notes are little positive messages left on post it notes to brighten up a strangers day when they find them :)

Why ?

Wouldn't it make you smile to know that a complete stranger cared enough to take time out of their day just to let you know it's all going to be okay ? You never know who will find the message that just took you a few seconds to write. It might find just the right person at just the right time when they need a little pick me up to get them through a rough day :) Plus a set of post it notes and pen isn't really going to set you back that much and it's definitely worth it , I pinkie promise ^.^

Where ? 

You can leave them anywhere and EVERYWHERE ! Just don't get caught ! My friend and me sometimes write out around twenty and get in a lift and cover the lift with little messages of hope, the challenge is to finish putting them up before the lift stops and someone else gets in ! If you're nervous about people noticing you and thinking your weird, just remember they probably wont even ask, and if they do then just say you're doing a little project to cheer people up :)

Here are a few ideas of where you could leave them :

• In changing rooms ( a cute "You're Beautiful " message on the mirror would be nice, don't you think ? ^.^ ) 
• On the stairways 
• Stuck on random pages of notebooks in stationary stores 
• Inside books at the library, especially self-help books ! 
• Behind food at the Supermarket 
• On your table after you leave a coffee shop :) I always leave a little note for the waitress/waiter 
• The Bathroom mirrors 
• Dotted around shops anywhere you can find a space that isn't too noticeable :) 

But What Do I Say ??? 

Whenever I've spoken to anyone about hopeful notes, people have said that they just don't know what to write ! I've worked out that it's easy to know what to write as long as you stick to one simple rule. Write what YOU need to hear, right now . Believe it or not, however rubbishy you're feeling, you're not alone and that means other people people are feeling like, they're not quite good enough or their nose is too big ( just an example, I'm sure you have a wonderful nose ) Give them the support you need. Whatever anyone tells me, you CAN ALWAYS give someone a hug with words . 

I also keep a little notebook where I jot down positive quotes for hopeful notes to keep for whenever I need one quick :) You could even use one of Carries quotes : 

" Things haven't always been this bad, therefore they wont always be this bad "

Spread a Little Kindness ! 

So why not go for it ? You're a lovely human being, and there's lots of other lovely human beings on Earth , even if we all do silly things sometimes and upset people . We all deserve a little Kindness ! There's a quote that says, " Happiness is like jam you can spread some without getting a little on yourself " You will be amazed how good doing the odd random act of kindness will make you feel !
