Monthly Goals | January 2017

Hello, Lovely People!

Firstly, I'd like to apologize for my absence in the past two weeks. I moved house two days before Christmas, so unfortunately we could only get the wifi connected today. I promise there will be regular posts on a Tuesday and Friday from now on.

If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of fresh starts. So, new year’s resolutions are right up my street! However, this year I’ve decided to try something a little new and although I will be setting five overall goals for the year, I will also be doing a monthly goal post each month where I will set a few little goals at the beginning of each month and will review my progress at the beginning of the next month. By doing this, I’m acknowledging that situations and needs change and develop throughout the year and by adapting to this I will be more likely to succeed and become the best version of myself!

So, first I’m going to run through my new year’s resolutions/goals to achieve in 2017 and then I will let you know about my goals for the month of January. Ohh this is all very exciting! I’m certain that this year is going to be amazing because … well because that’s how I’ve decided to make it.

My Goals For 2017

1)Stop biting my nails

I’ve always wanted lovely long nails that I can paint and show off but I’ve never managed to stop biting my nails long enough to do it! I’m going to try to keep my nails painted because I think that helps me to avoid biting them so hopefully that will do the trick. If you have any tips that helped you to stop biting your nail’s then PLEASE let me know in the comments.

2)Focus on healthy living

This year I am determined to use eat far more healthily and exercise more so that I can give my body the nutrition that it needs and the exercise it deserves to keep me happy and healthy. I’m going to be blogging about this a lot in the new year, including my Yoga Dairies series that will be restarting next Friday when the classes restart after the Christmas break.

3)Refocus my blog on healthy living for the mind and body

I want to really focus Don’t Burst My Bubble on self-care, mindfulness, looking after your body and positivity this year because I think it could definitely help me and hopefully a few of you guys as well.

4)Get into University

This one is pretty self-explanatory but I’m very worried that I’m not going to get into the university of my dreams so I really want to buckle down this year and get in!

5)Practise Self-care

I’ve realized that I don’t spend much time focussing on myself and making sure that I’m happy, so this year I’m going to make sure that I have more me time.

My Goals For January

1) Exercise at least 3 times a week

I'm hoping to achieve this by signing up to classes rather than just going to the gym on my own because I feel that way there's more pressure to stick with it.

2)Take smoothies to college with me

I worry a lot about the lack of fruit and veg in my diet, so, in order to change this I'm going to take a smoothie to college with me every day ( apart from Friday ) to help me get the vitamins my body needs to keep me happy and healthy.

3) Have more me time

I really want to focus on being kinder to myself this year. I was thinking of doing this by scheduling an hour or two each week when I get to just be with myself. I'm thinking of making a little "Me Time" Box with relaxing bits and bobs in, so if that's something you'd like to see on my blog then please let me know in the comments.

I really hope you enjoyed this post because I had so much fun writing it and I feel that it has really benefited me in understanding what I want to achieve and how I'm going to do it! My inspiration for my monthly goals posts came from Kim's blog over at The Thirty Something Life so be sure to check her out.

I'd love to hear from you in the comments. Let me know one new year's resolution and one goal that you want to achieve this month! I find it so interesting listening to people's plans to improve their lives.

How to ... Achieve your goals

So ... were four days in . How are we all doing ? As long as nobodies in prison for murdering the annoying woman who sat right next to you eating that chocolate bar while you tried desperately to love the fruit pot in front of you that you swore four days ago you'd eat for lunch everyday ... I think we're doing okay ;)

Picking the right new years resolutions for you is an important task, you have to evaluate what you want to improve in yourself or your life and then find a way to do it .. but that's all relatively easy compared to actually sticking to the goals as I'm sure most of you have realized ... every single year.. at least three times over ! But I'm feeling very enthusiastic for the new year and the fresh start that comes with it and am determined to make a lot of positive changes ! So I've put together a list of tips to help sticking to those new years resolutions just that lil bit easier :)

Tip #1

Grab a friend

You're far more likely to stick to something if you're not doing it alone, whether you share how it's going with regular online updates for your followers ( I've seen a lot of great bloggers do monthly goal review posts ) or you force a mate to sign up to the gym with you . Don't do it alone ! If you feel like you're going to let someone else down as well then you're way less likely to back out .

Tip #2

Equipt yourself

Its the January sales, you can afford to give yourself a post Christmas treat. So instead of heading to Thorntons for half price chocolate Santas, go and get yourself a healthy cook book or the yoga mat you need or even some nice skincare products in the sale ! Get whatever you need to get started with you goals, it will make you a lot more excited to start if you feel ready :)

Tip #3

Make an action plan

It's easy enough to say what you want but how are you ever expecting to achieve it if you don't actually make a plan of how you're going to get there and start doing it ! Sit down and write down each goal for the year and underneath write what you're going to do to achieve it ( I did this in my new years resolution post ). Breaking things down into little steps makes them much less intimidating because they seem more attainable ! Perhaps even set a treat to give yourself when you complete a mini step towards your goal .

Tip #4

Dust yourself off and go again

Not everything turns out perfect the first few goes but having one sneaky piece of chocolate doesn't mean the whole world is over and you can't do anything about it until January 1st next year , everyday is a fresh start, this one is just more highlighted and a great opportunity. So use it but don't be afraid to pick yourself up and start again if it slips up :)

I hope these are at least a little helpful in keeping on track ! I'd love to hear your tips and tricks for achieving your new years goals in the comments and let me know yours are going .

New Years Resolutions

There's less than 24 hours until 2016 is finally here and I am more than ready for this fresh start ! I'm so, so excited for the new year and I'm really eager to make a lot of positive changes this year ! Today I wanted to share a few of my new years resolutions and how I'm going to achieve them :)

Resolution One

Leave a hopeful note ( at least ) once a week

How I'm going to do it : To make sure I stick to this one I'm going to post a picture of that weeks hopeful note at he end of every Monday post !

Resolution Two

Write in my positivity diary daily

How I'm going to do it :  I'm starting a new series called "The Positivity Diaries " Which will hopefully be a communal positivity diary where we will share the good things that have happened in that week :) It will be posted every Sunday ( starting on the 3rd January ) and you can read more about it in my last post which you can find here ! My theory is, if we do it together then we're more likely to stick to it .

Resolution Three

Eat more healthily

How I'm going to do it : When you give your body the nutrients it needs, then you're naturally going to have more energy and be happier ! It's like giving a flower Coca Cola instead of water and wondering why it's dead ;) So I'm feeling very enthusiastic this year and am going to try making new, healthy recipes and would love to share them with you ! So let me know in the comments if you would like to see some healthy recipe posts coming up in the near future :)

Resolution Four

Start swimming again ... and maybe even yoga

How I'm going to do it : Well I've bought a new red polka dot swimming costume , convinced my best friend to come with me and bought a membership at the local swimming pool and now I'm ready to go ! I've found that you're far more likely to stick to something if you're not doing it alone so this year I'm trying to include someone else ( whether it's you guys or one of my poor friends that I've dragged to a swimming pool ) so that it won't just be me I let down :) I'm also moving house later this year and will be closer to a gym and now my Friday nights have freed up I'm looking into using them to go to a yoga class.

So that's just a few of my resolutions and I am really excited to make this work ! This year Im thinking how would I like to be? How am I going to get there ? Okay this is the action plan ! I think it's a great time of year to improve yourself and become who you want to be and this year, I want to be happy :) What do you wan't from the new year and how are you going to get it ? I'd love to hear from you in the comments !

Fresh Starts

Hello !

Did you all have a good Christmas ? I hope you've all had a great time with your family and friends over Christmas :) Today I just wanted to put up a quick post apologizing for not posting over most of the Christmas season. I was going through a break up and with all the stress that comes with that I decided that it was best not to post until after Christmas, mainly to avoid projecting any unnecessary negativity onto Don'tBurstMyBubbleXx. So, now I'm back. Its a few days before the new year and I'm very much looking forward to a fresh start and have so many plans both for my blog and myself. I really can't wait ! One of the things I'm looking forward to most in 2016 in starting a new series on Don'tBurstMyBubble called " The Positivity Diaries ".  I've often talked about my positivity diary, but for those of you who don't know it's a notebook I keep that I write in everyday , one good thing that happened. No matter how bad the day. In fact the worse the day, the more important it is ! In y new series I'm going to focus on the idea that " Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day. ".  Every Sunday I will be posting a summary of that week entries into my positivity diary and would like to encourage you all to focus on positivity going into year by asking you to share some positive aspects from your week with me in the comments of these posts. Over time I'm hoping we'll build a form of communal positivity diary ! I am super excited to hear what you think of this idea in the comments of this post . The first post of the series should be up this Sunday and I really hope that you'll join me in my efforts to make 2016 a much happier, more positivity focused year :)
