Doctor Who | Quotes Posts !

For those of you who don't know... I'm a little, tincy-wincy bit obsessed with Doctor who. I'm sure you've heard of Doctor Who because .. well.. it's Doctor Who. I've always loved watching the adventures of The Doctor, time travelling and saving the human race. But one of my favorite things about it is all the inspirational quotes so today I thought I'd share some of those with you !

" Our lives are different to anybody else's. That's the exciting thing. Nobody in the universe can do what we're doing. "

" A straight line may not be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting."

"The universe is big. Its's vast. And complicated and ridiculous. And sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles."

"I'm usually called the doctor.Or the caretaker.Or "get off this planet". Though strictly speaking that probably isn't a name."

" If you're so desperate to stay alive why don't you live a little? "

"Do what I do.Hold tight and pretend it's a plan."

"Because it's not always the same when you fire that first shot.No matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die! You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn! How many hearts will be broken ! How many lives will be shattered ! How much blood will spill, Until everybody does what they were always going to have to do from the very beginning; SIT DOWN AND TALK! "

"Sometimes the only choices you have are bad ones but you still have to choose"

"There is no such thing as an ordinary human"

"I am and always will be- The optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes. The dreamer of improbable dreams."

"You want weapons? We're in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world ! This room's he greatest arsenal we could have."

"Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference."

"Pain is a gift. Without the capacity for pain, we can't feel the hurt we inflict."

Which is your favorite ? What series do you fangirl over ? Let me know in the comments ! I love hearing from you :)

I met Philip Zimbardo ! | The Positivity Diaries

Hello !

How are you guys ? I hope last week was great for you and if not then I KNOW there were at least a few bits and bobs in there that made you smile, even if you have to think about it for a few minutes ! And I can't wait to hear all about them in the comments of our little communal positivity diary :) But for now, here's my entry for this week :

Monday : I managed to get through  a lot of french grammar... why are there so many tenses ?!?!

Tuesday : My girlfriend took me on a walk to show me a river near her house that she loves and it was so peaceful and beautiful, I had a great time :)

Wednesday : I went on a trip to London with my psychology class to meet Philip Zimbardo, the last classic psychologist ( who isn't dead ) and it was amazing . I turned into such a fangirl , especially considering he was 83 !

Thursday : Me and my girlfriend went to watch a film at the cinema called 'Carol' . We got in for £3 each at a showing about 11am .. we couldn't work out why it was so cheap until we got there and were offered free tea and biscuits and realised it was a showing for the elderly . After talking to a few of the elderly people there we soon realised that they were not aware this film was about two women getting together ... If you've ever watched a gay sex scene with 20 OAP's then you'll feel my pain haha :)

Friday : I went on my girlfriends trampoline and I haven't laughed so much in AGES , I seriously forgot how much fun they were .

Saturday : I've started to really focus my revision so today I made myself the ideal revision area in my room! I've been thinking about writing a post on how to get into the revision mindset so let me know in the comments if that's something you'd be interested in :)

Sunday : It's Easter !! My sister bought me a super cute little mermaid top that says ' I'm really a mermaid ' and it's perfect :)

So that was my week, I can't wait to hear all about yours in the comment and it would be really great if you wrote 3 good things from your week. It really helps to put you into a positive mindset, you'll be amazed at the benefits :)

NEC Craft Fair !

Hello,

My mum has always been wonderfully creative, especially with making hand made cards, so every year since I can remember we've visited the HobbyCrafts Show at the NEC . But this year, me and my girlfriend went together and we had an absolutely wonderful day ! I've not smiled so much in ages :)

There were hundreds of stools selling all sorts of wonderful crafts but rather than buying lots of stuff, we headed off to book ourselves into lots of the workshops that were available. In each workshop, we made something to take home with us, each using a different craft and it was so much fun trying out all the different ways of making things and they all turned out far better than expected hehe !

Here are a few of the things we made :

This was the first workshop we went to, we were taught how to do Chinese paintings. I'll be completely honest, I was a little apprehensive about it at first ( I only booked the workshop because I love cats ) but in the end I really loved it ! We used a special kind of paint brush made with goat hair and bamboo and the lady showed us lots of techniques using different pressures on the brush. We were so happy with how they turned out :) The Top one is mine and the second is my girlfriends ... I think mines best .. she cheated , she does art ... well that's what I'm telling myself haha !

In another workshop we made these gorgeous flowers out of this weird clay like stuff , when they dried they feel like foamy paper , it's the strangest thing ! But we were both pretty proud of them and they were surprisingly easy to make !

There was this really cool stall with an extremely funny man who made flowers out of ribbons... we did both attempt to make a rose with him but ummm well Georgies fell appart and mine was ... well it's probably best we don't talk about mine haha :) However the man running the stool was very kind and made us a beautiful ribbon flower to take with us , he even put perfume on it !

The next workshop we went to was very important to us because last year when I went to the craft fair with my mother I made a little wooden plaque with " My Best Friend" burnt into it and this year ... well that plaque is outdated . So we both decided to make each other new ones ( luckily the wood burning workshop was there again this year ) and we were very happy with how they turned out .

At our final workshop of the day, we made bunny rabbits out of this thing called jumping clay ! It was so much fun and we really enjoyed it ... plus the guy giving the instructions had an amazing accent, I've no idea what it was but I loved it hehe :) What do you think we should call them ?

After all that, we had a look around the cake decorating part of the show ( Someone had made an amazing Starwars Bake Off cake ) and then bought ourselves some delicious home made ice cream. I couldn't of been happy than I was sat on the floor together eating ice cream and smiling in each others arms :)

What's your favourite way to get creative ? I'd love to hear about your favourite crafts and hobbies in the comments because the craft fair made me realise how much fun it was to try out new crafts .
