Reasons To Have Faith In Humanity

I've noticed recently that the phrase "Erghhh, I've lost faith in humanity " is frequently used and often without a lot of thought and it upsets me. I know this is often said without meaning but it's a big, negative, degrading statement and for someone who depends on enthusiasm and positivity to keep going, it's a scary statement.... an it makes me sad. So I decided to be prepared for it because here on Don'tBurstMyBubbleXx we specialise in positivity so I thought I'd make a collection of reasons to have faith in humanity that we can remind people of when they think they're losing it !

Music : There's so many different types and endless songs and pieces that have been and are still to be composed, but people all like different types of music and yes the music is different but from Justin Beiber to Brad Paisley to Slipknot.. it's all music and that links all of us . Isn't it amazing that one thing can be so flexible to fit anybody .

Charity : How much money do you think all the charities in the world raise every year out of pure human kindness ? It's A LOT . Things like treatments for cancer, life saving aid to countries suffering natural disasters, education for children in poverty ridden countries and so SO MUCH more ! Purely as a result of human kindness !

The Hopeful Notes : I've talked about Carrie Hope Fletchers Hopeful notes before on Don'tBurstMyBubbleXx endlessly but essentially they're positive messages on post it notes left for strangers to make them smile ! Random Acts Of kindness like this are done for know reason just to make a stranger smile because why on earth not ?

" Have A Nice Day " :  Shop assistants tell you to " Have a nice day " ... isn't that just really nice ? I know some of them have been told to say it to the customers but they're saying it and be honest with yourself, how likely is it that they're being insincere ? Would they honestly in reality like you to have a bad day ? I like to think not :) If they don't tell you to have a nice day I think it's nice to assume they're having a rough day and just forgot so why not tell them yourself :)

We've come a LONG way : Okay, yes the world isn't perfect, not by a long way. But were learning, were improving . Bad things are still happening and that's awful but we will learn and with a lot of hard work develop as a race become even better . It is important to focus on where we can improve in a helpful and practical way when working out how to proceed but it's still important to recognise how far we've come ! Only recently, gay marriage has been legalised, there's equality among races and feminism is making great strides, our technology is more advanced than ever and who knows what disease we'll cure next ?

These are just a few of the main, general ones that I wanted to talk about today but I've made a pinterest board to go with this post ( that you can find here ) filled with lots of heart warming stories and examples of reasons to have faith in humanity ! I would love to hear your ideas and reasons in the comments !

Stay Strong <3 Stay Smiley :)

Lots of love, Marianne xxx

  1. Marianne, I just want you to know you are exactly the kind of person this world needs to keep the positivity going! It's true, being around negative people can automatically make some people have a bad attitude. But think how tiring it must be for those people to constantly be negative? I know a lot of people don't even want to be that way, it's just out of sheer frustration. But it's people like you that make the people around them better and more positive! I've loved the idea of your positivity notes because doesn't it just make you feel good when you read something nice or see something nice happen? In turn, it makes people want to act more nicely, so it's a trend! It's why I love to come to your blog, you remind me how wonderful it is to be around positivity and to try to spread that myself! I adore you Marianne, I hope you are having a lovely Monday and your week is wonderful! XO -Kim

    1. Oh my gosh, kim you're so kind to me that really made me smile ... and cry a tiny bit :) I really struggle being around negative people because I just stop being able to function properly and it makes me feel trapped and yes there are bad things in the world but there are a lot of things that are amazing and kind and beautiful and we can't ignore them because that's no way to live :) It is lovely to leave hopeful notes and very occasionally I have stood around the corner and watched people take them and it's really heart warming :) Thank you kim , I always appreciate your support and comments so so much :)

  2. I work in retail and I will always say "Have a nice day" or "Enjoy your night", etc, no matter what mood I'm in! Haha, I hate when whoever is serving you doesn't say it, I just find it kinda rude! Haha! Lovely post! XO

    1. Thank you honey :) Yes ! People are so grateful when someone just waits a few extra seconds to hold the door for them and it's vey uncommon that someone would just drop the door and let it slam on your face so it really is a brilliant idea to have faith in humanity !

  6. You're so kind to me Rainbow :) I've always thought that sadness has a way of blinding us to all the good things in life and seeing life through grey tinted glasses sounds a little rubbish to me :) I completely agree, It's such a nice thing just for even one day set yourself the challenge of every time you notice something you like about someone whether it's their new top or their smile, tell them ! Even if it's a stranger in the que, It will only brighten both of your days :)

  8. I always say "I've lost faith in humanity" but I completely get what you're saying!! I think it's because the bad things are publicised a lot more or we are more aware of them which is sad as there are so many people out there doing good and giving us a reason to have faith!

I love how positive your posts are, and they are always super positive! Thanks for sharing this!

    1. I completely agree that the media seems to be obsessed on focusing on everything going wrong in the world and all it does is teach people that there's nothing going right and that's simply not true :) Thank you so much, that means a lot !

    2. It's the world we live in! I actually thought back to this post you shared the other day! I was at the train station waiting for my train home when I see this young, teenage guy pull a girl, who i'm assuming was his girlfriend, off the seat and go offer it to an elderly women. It's so nice to see people looking out for others and putting their needs first. We aren't all bad!

  9. I love this post so much Marianne! You are so right, there are so many reasons to feel good about and have faith in Humanity. Just because the bad things are the one's that are always being broadcasted doesn't mean that there aren't also a lot of good things that go on. Even just a simple smile from a stranger goes a long way. I know that when I'm feeling out of it and someone flashes me a smile it instantly picks my mood up and makes me feel good. It's the simple little things like that that make us believe that humanity is still good. Thanks for the littler reminder :D I love this post!! <3 Hope you are having a great day and that all is going well in school ;)

    1. Aww Thank you Crystal ! Exactely , the world is a far more beautiful place than we give it credit for :) You're completely right about smiles and there's a quote I love that says " If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours " which I think is nice to live by :) College is actually starting to look up now, I'm enjoying all my subjects apart from math which was making me miserable but today I managed to get moved to sit on my own and it's much easier to focus and i'm enjoying it more :) How's uni going ? :)
